Introducing the Woodham Walter School Council 2020-21!
A school council is group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school. We have an active School Council which meets every fortnight.
The School Council benefits the whole school, pupils and teachers and the community, because it provides opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings as well as influence decisions that are made. Councillors develop skills such as confidence, communication and negotiation.
Purpose:
To be a role model in terms of attitude, attendance, behaviour, manners and appearance to all members of the Woodham Walter family
To allow the children at Woodham Walter Primary School to have a voice
To help the school and community be a better place
To help to improve learning in the school
To raise funds for the school
To raise funds for the school
To wear the School Council Badge with pride
At school council meetings, we decide on the most effective ways to change and improve the school and then talk to the people who can help to make it happen. The school councillors records ideas, from their peers, in school council files, ready to bring to the next School Council meeting for discussion. School councillors regularly share news and information about new initiatives and the important things which are achieved with their classes. We hold school council meetings every half term. Together we can help Woodham Walter Primary School to continue to grow and succeed.
