Collective Worship

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and enter his gates with praise!  Give thanks to him and bless his name!”  Psalms 100:4

Collective Worship at our school is a joyful, sacred, and spiritually enriching experience that brings the community together to give thanks, celebrate, and receive wisdom and inspiration. We participate in an act of Collective Worship every day led by a teacher or a visitor from our local church. Our Collective Worship is central to the life of the school; indeed, it is a thread which runs through the lives of our children and staff.

Through Collective Worship, participants are able to:

  • Develop a sense of connection and belonging within the school community through shared experiences.
  • Engage in personal reflection, self-awareness, and spiritual growth, fostering transformational change.
  • Seek inspiration and wisdom to live life in its fullness, as expressed in John 10:10.
  • Appreciate and celebrate the beauty and mystery of creation, as well as the source of human achievement both within our school and beyond.
  • Nourish and deepen the faith of those who believe.
  • Reflect on how scripture offers comfort, encouragement, and inspiration, illustrating God’s love, faithfulness, and the transformative power of faith.
  • Actively engage through reflection, prayer, and songs of praise.

This approach creates a space for all to grow spiritually, building a community where everyone can thrive in faith and understanding.

Collective Worship Committee

The Collective Worship Committee is a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils who help to lead Collective Worship for the whole school. They make sure everything is set up, and often help to lead the prayer.  The committee plans and leads Collective Worship for the whole school at least once each half-term.
