E-Safety

At Woodham Walter Primary School we take the issue of Internet Safety very seriously and below you will find information that will support both parents/guardians and children.

The internet is a fantastic resource, but it can also bring risks. We work with our pupils in school to help them understand the dangers and learn how to keep themselves safe.

All pupils are asked to sign an agreement on how they will use the Internet in school.

CEOP

The CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) logo pictured here is on many social networking sites.  It is the Advice, Help and Report button.  Clicking on it will take you to their website, where you can easily follow links for help if you are a parent or child. https://www.ceop.police.uk/Safety-Centre/

Tips for staying safe online:

• Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online. If someone you don’t know asks to be your online friend, you must ensure an adult knows about it.
• Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.
• Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.
• Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.
• Know how to use the CEOP Button and how to report it to the CEOP Centre if you are concerned about someone’s online behaviour towards you.
